Police Divers To Search Lynn Pond In Missing Swampscott Mother Probe

LYNN (CBS) – A state police dive team will search a pond in Lynn Tuesday for evidence in the disappearance of a mother from Swampscott.

Jaimee Mendez, 25, was last heard from on the evening of November 6 and was reported missing to Swampscott Police two days later, according to the Essex District Attorney’s Office.

Investigators have been looking for her since then in various locations in Salem, Lynn and Swampscott.

State police spokesman David Procopio told WBZ-TV the dive team will search the Floating Bridge Pond near Route 107 in Lynn beginning around 9:30 a.m.

Mendez has a 5-year-old son with autism and her family says she would never leave him for this long. She also has diabetes.

Her family told WBZ-TV that Jamiee was last seen with a man who is a known Level 3 sex offender.

There have been no arrests in the case.
