Firefighters From Around World Pay Final Respects To Boston Lt. Ed Walsh

WATERTOWN (CBS/AP) — A Boston firefighter killed with a colleague as they fought a nine-alarm fire in the Back Bay last week will be laid to rest Wednesday.

Lt. Edward Walsh, 43, died alongside 33-year-old firefighter Michael Kennedy when they became trapped in the basement during a fire March 26 in a brownstone on Beacon Street.

Walsh was married with three children all under the age of 10.

His funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Church on Main Street in Watertown, where he grew up.
